That was a fun headline, don’t you think?

This commercial is really upbeat and enjoyable. Or at least, as upbeat and enjoyable as you’ll ever find for a cup-ramen commercial. Check out the dancing sumo here. Here’s one from the vault for you. It’s an old tuna commercial from 30 years back – 1978 to be precise – starring a cast of Star Wars characters. Everyone is there: C3PO, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, and even Chewbacca. The problem is, it’s doesn’t look to be an authorized Star Wars ad, but rather a group of knock-offs. Watch as the little boy starts out in a lousy mood, while his trusty dog goes through great pains trying to cheer him up. Nothing seems to work until… Yes, you guessed it. Anyone who has seen the famous Aflac maneki neko daku commercial here in Japan will likely not be surprised that this tune is being made into a CD single. The ad has enjoyed great success, and now they’re going to try to milk it for all it’s worth.

The singers are even doing live performances of the ad, one of which recently aired on Japanese TV (see video below). Please note the dancing maneki neko daku off to the right. It’s pretty hilarious. But undeniably catchy.

Some of you may remember the Lotte Fits ad campaign that came out a few months back. The commercial was an infectious song and dance routine that the company invited viewers to do the dance as well, and submit videos to their Lotte Fits dance contest.

Well they’re back with a new one, and it’s even cuter than the first. I’m a little skeptical about the guy in the commercial though. He doesn’t seem like the manliest knife in the drawer…

Chiaki Kuriyama is doing a lot of commercials lately. Her fans must be very happy: she is just everywhere these days… This one ad is a CM for the Panasonic P901iS Foma keitai that plays music and has a LED display on the front so that it entertains you while you listen to your favorite songs (and in this ad, she is listening to Love Psychedelico, in case you wondered).

When Asics put some new shock-absorbing gel in their shoes, they don’t just say it or showing it. Instead, they made a website with a wacky commercial parody of late evening Japanese TV shows.
